Web Design Portfolio Spotlight on Fruitful Vine Midwives

I love how this website turned out! Fruitful Vine Midwives is a local company with an awesome Mom-and-Daughter duo at the helm. They offer midwifery services from the very beginning of pregnancy all the way through birth of the new little one(s).

Web Design Portfolio Spotlight on Fruitful Vine MidwivesFor this website design project, I worked with the new color palette and logo provided by the client to transform an old site into a fresh, modern look.

Since the services FVM provides are very personal and hands-on, I wanted to ensure that the pictures on the home page reflected the softness and warmth of a new mother’s love. The client and I selected several pictures from her collection of actual baby / parents & baby photos that reflect this mood. She also sent me a beautiful photo of herself and her Mom for use on the site as well.

In addition to the main photos on the site, I also added an Instagram feed into the footer of the website, which features the client’s new photos of happy families after they are posted.

I worked carefully with the client to reword content as needed and redirected an old website the client didn’t need anymore to this new one. The layout is based on a rendition of a Pinterest image the client sent to me of a website design she liked.

Since the website has a very definitive grid layout, I was somewhat worried how this particular design would work on a responsive website. Not to worry, though! I tweaked the CSS code as necessary to hide the grid lines as needed for a truly mobile-friendly website.

I’ve also worked with this client on various other projects as needed, including several print design jobs such as the creation of new Trimester PDF documents that the client can send out to new mothers. These documents feature a large stock photo that invites the reader in. I also used pull-quotes and scripture verses the client provided and formatted them in an elegant way to break up the pages of informative content.

Anyway, I hope you check out the FVM website at http://www.fruitfulvinemidwives.com/ and enjoy!
