e-Commerce Web Design Portfolio Spotlight on 10,000 Tacos

If you enjoy hearing stories about family and small business, you’ll love my client’s podcast, 10,000 Tacos. This podcast is centered around life growing up in California and helping with the family food truck. Best of all, my client is creative and excited about learning new ways to grow the brand!

e-Commerce Web Design Portfolio Spotlight on 10,000 TacosSo, when my client decided to upgrade his site by adding e-commerce capabilities, I was ready to help him. For this project, I consulted with my client about how to get things ready for e-commerce. I tweaked the product photographs he sent so as to help the product look most presentable on the website. I also set up the WooCommerce plugin and helped the client with getting the right payment portal set up for accepting payments.

In order to make the client’s new product more visible, I reworked the home page to include the new “Trucker Hat” product and capabilities for selecting a hat color and adding it to the cart. I also added links to the main site menu for the Merch page and to the Cart page.

Shipping and sales tax are big considerations for e-commerce stores. For this site, I encouraged my client to discuss taxes with his accountant. We decided to include shipping costs (at least initially) in the cost of the hat.

Previous Site Work

Below are some of the ways I’ve previously assisted in helping with the 10,000 Tacos site!

  • Set up a MailChimp account and automated emails for sending when people subscribe as well as emails tied to new posts that go up on the website.
  • Added Instagram and Facebook feeds to the sidebar since my client regularly keeps up his social media accounts with informative and humorous posts.
  • Add code so that “Subscribe in Apple Podcasts” banner shows up on IOS mobile devices.

I hope you check out the https://www.tenthousandtacos.com/ site and my client’s 10,000 Tacos podcast!
